PPL(A) courses
A Private Pilot Licence (PPL) is a license that permits the holder to act as the pilot of an aircraft privately (not for pay).
The program consists of two parts:
- Theoretical course of 114 hrs, consists of 10 subjects delivered using professionally prepared teaching aids. The theoretical training is conducted at KTU (Kaunas University of Technology) Kęstučio str. 27, Kaunas.
- Flight training - 45 hrs. Single pilot private flights under the Visual Flight Rules (VFR) in one-pilot one-engine Cesna 150 takes place in our training field at S.Darius and S.Girenas aerodrome in Kaunas, Veiverių str. 132.
Entry requirements:
- 17 years of age and over to be issued a PPL;
- Valid Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Certificate.

- Communications;
- Human Performance;
- Air Law & ATC Procedures;
- Operational Procedures;
- Aircraft General Knowledge;
- Aircraft Operation Manual.
- Flight Performance and Planning;
- Meteorology;
- Navigation;
- Principles of Flight;
Upon passing all the 10 theoretical exams and completing the minimum training the candidates are elligible for the theory examination with the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration (CAA).
